Big changes for Documentary in Europe this year: we moved to September and gave you a unique opportunity to look for a producer/funder for your project. The dates of the MATCH-MAKING session which includes seminars, screenings and a public pitch of documentaries ' that can make a change' went from 10 to 13 September.
Thanks to you all for attending and taking part in our event. Once again you have helped make the international workshop a huge success!
Documentary in Europe 2012 hosts the third ESoDoc's session
During the September Documentary in Europe Workshop, we will host the third ESoDoc's session. ESoDoc - European Social Documentary is a training initiative promoted by ZeLIG School for Documentary with the support of EU's MEDIA Programme.
Our partecipants will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses and sessions organized by ESoDoc. A unique chance to be part of this great event and get closer to the documentaries that 'can make a change'

You have until the 21st June to enrol in Turin’s new Scuola Holden.
New Scuola Holden? But hasn’t it existed for almost 20 years?
Yes and no. Things have changed a bit from 1994 to today.
On the 8th October 2013 the Scuola Holden begins anew: a new site, new courses, a new didactic method.
This is the place that you’re looking for, if you have stories to tell. And not only with words. There will be six Colleges, each dedicated to a different form of storytelling and techniques of narrative production. If you can’t take a walk without wanting to take notes, if you look at the world through a lens, you may be the right kind of people for Real World, the College that tells the stories that happen around it. We aren’t looking for journalists, nor documentary makers: you will have to become both. You will learn to tell the stories that occur out there, through every medium: articles, documentaries, blogs, photos, radio. The new site is the ex Cavalli Barracks, in the Borgo Dora area. You will hardly ever be there: you’ll be running around, hunting stories out.

The EDN Award 2013 is presented to Stefano Tealdi and Joan Gonzàles for over 15 years of contributing to the outstanding development of the Southern European documentary culture. The contribution has been done by initiating and running Documentary in Europe and DocsBarcelona. The award was presented on Friday March 22, 2013 at 19:30 at an award reception during the international documentary pitching session Docs in Thessaloniki.
WORKSHOP per lo sviluppo e la presentazione di progetti di film documentari
promosso da Trentino Film Commission e organizzata da ZeLIG scuola di documentario di Bolzano in collaborazione con FORMAT e il TrentoFilmfestival
VIII Edizione
Come si arriva alla produzione di un film documentario? Come si trasforma un’idea in un buon progetto, accattivante e che sappia descrivere bene il film che vogliamo fare?
L’iniziativa è rivolta ad autori e filmmakers che vogliono acquisire o perfezionare le proprie conoscenze nella scrittura e nello sviluppo del film documentario. Il workshop è organizzato in tre sessioni con due laboratori a Trento e una fase intermedia di sviluppo on-line.
Ogni partecipante ha l’opportunità di sviluppare un proprio progetto di film sotto la guida e la supervisione di importanti professionisti del settore. L’evento conclusivo della terza sessione del workshop consisterà in un pitching pubblico di presentazione dei progetti a produttori e responsabili di reti televisive durante il 61° TrentoFilmfestival.

A DOX PROPOSAL CRASH COURSE (25. 2. 2013.)
A new one-day ZagrebDox Pro workshop!
ZagrebDox Pro organizes a one-day workshop in which participants will get insight into the other, invisible side of the workshop, fund and festival selection process. How selectors evaluate applications, what they specifically pay attention to and how to clearly communicate your ideas with them? Answers to these questions will provide managers and guests of this workshop.
The workshop is organized in cooperation with DOCUMENTARY IN EUROPE
Up to 25 persons (scriptwriters, producers, directors, cinematographers and editors) can participate in the program. Candidates can apply by sending an e-mail at pro@zagrebdox.net entitled A DOX PROPOSAL CRASH COURSE APPLICATION.
The e-mail must contain their full name, biography (up to five sentences), e-mail address and cell-phone number.
The deadline for submission of applications for A DOX PROPOSAL CRASH COURSE is 10 January 2013.

ZeLIG is glad to announce the 10th edition of ESoDoc - European Social Documentary, the European training initiative for documentary and cross-media projects with social impact.
ESoDoc 2013 is realized with the support of EU's MEDIA Programme, Autonomous Region Trentino Alto-Adige, BLS - Business Location Südtirol, Movies That Matter, Nederlands Filmfonds, NFB - Dutch Association of Film and Television Professionals, Documentary in Europe.
WHY ESoDoc
ESoDoc offers a creative environment where you will be able to develop your documentary or cross-media project and find new financing, production and distribution strategies during 3 intensive sessions.
You will be supported by top-professionals of the film and new media industry, who will be able to provide you with fresh and up-to-date insights on the European and international film industry.
