the 16th Documentary in Europe...a great success!
Big changes for Documentary in Europe this year: we moved to September and gave you a unique opportunity to look for a producer/funder for your project. The dates of the MATCH-MAKING session which includes seminars, screenings and a public pitch of documentaries ' that can make a change' went from 10 to 13 September.
Thanks to you all for attending and taking part in our event. Once again you have helped make the international workshop a huge success!
Documentary in Europe 2012 hosts the third ESoDoc's session
During the September Documentary in Europe Workshop, we will host the third ESoDoc's session. ESoDoc - European Social Documentary is a training initiative promoted by ZeLIG School for Documentary with the support of EU's MEDIA Programme.
Our partecipants will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses and sessions organized by ESoDoc. A unique chance to be part of this great event and get closer to the documentaries that 'can make a change'

Among this year's commisioning editors we have Jenny Westergard. Graduated journalist from Helsinki University, she has been working for YLE, the broadcasting Finnish service, since 1985. She is currently working as Commissioning Editor for documentaries in the YLE Co-production department. She is mainly commissioning for YLE FST5, the Swedish language channel. YLE FST5 offers full service 7-day a week with an average broadcasting of 2200 hour/year, with Finnish subtitles. At the moment YLE FST5 has two weekly slots for documentaries, focusing on contemporary, human interest stories with strong storylines and good characters in a social, political context.
