Superottimisti is a project which involves the retrieving of memories through the collection of amateur tapes in 8mm, super8, 9,5mm and 16mm formats and their subsequent cataloging, archiving and distribution.
The aim of the project is to preserve and give value to the material, from both a historical and a cinematographic point of view. The memories that many people have committed to the so-called 'amateur films show us an intimate cross-section of events that have marked our history. Through the Superottimisti archive they find a new place, establishing a priceless database for researchers, documentary film directors and other devotees.
Superottimisti is a project that Documentary in Europe develops in association with the Region Piedmont, the National Museum of the Cinema and with other institutions of the audiovisual sphere of Piedmont, joined by the wish to give back life to the amateur films inserting them in autorial and creative works.
Superottimisti will also become partner of the National Archives of Family Film founded in Bologna.
The digitalization of the films occur through technological standard of high-level, with the technique of telecinema, and is edited by “Zenit Arti Audiovisive”.
